Forged Carbon Hand Brake Cover

The factory hand brake handle is wrapped in vinyl. On a car this age it has usually cracked along the seam, gone shiny where your hand sits, and started lifting at the edges. It is one of about four things you physically touch on every single drive, and it looks worse than anything else in the interior.

This replaces it with a solid forged carbon piece — a direct swap for the factory cover on the BMW E46, E36, E39, Z3 and Z4.

Why Forged Carbon Rather Than Woven

Woven carbon trim has a repeating twill pattern, which means every part looks the same and any misalignment in the weave is obvious. Forged carbon is compression-molded from chopped fiber, so there is no repeating pattern at all — the fiber flows differently through every part and the marbling is unique to the piece you receive. Finished in gloss clear.

It is also the same material and the same finish options as the upper on our short shifter, so the two match if you run both.
