The E46 front cupholder is one of the best-known failures on the chassis. The arms snap, the mechanism jams half-open, and what you are left with is an open cavity in the middle of the console that collects change and looks broken.
This is our Cupholder Blockoff with light built into it. The same solid panel, printed to the OEM cupholder's external dimensions and dropping into the same opening — but the face carries a run of hexagonal apertures lit from behind, so the console gets ambient light the car never came with.
The Light Is Not Fixed
Color is set with the included remote. No app, no pairing. Match whatever the rest of the interior is already running — the factory amber, a cluster swap, an aftermarket footwell kit.
The light comes through hexagonal apertures cut into the panel itself, so it reads as part of the part rather than a strip stuck on behind trim.
Why Carbon-Reinforced PETG
Chopped carbon fiber in a PETG matrix, printed in house. The reinforcement matters less for strength here — this part carries no load — than for dimensional stability: it holds its shape in a black interior sitting in the sun, where unfilled PLA will not.
This is non-structural trim, and we say so plainly. Printed polymer is the right process for a part like this and the wrong one for anything that carries load.
Power and Install
USB. A single low-profile cable runs from the panel to any USB port or a 12V adapter. Nothing is spliced, nothing taps the factory loom, and the whole thing comes back out if you sell the car.
The panel itself drops into the factory opening once the original assembly is removed — no cutting, adhesive or permanent modification. Routing the cable out of sight is the only part that takes any thought; down the side of the console and into the storage tray is the tidiest path on most cars.
What You Are Trading
A visible cable is the honest cost of a reversible install. If you want the wire fully hidden you will need to hardwire it to an accessory circuit yourself, which is beyond what this part is designed for and not something we can support.
If you would rather have the clean console deletion with nothing to plug in, the standard blockoff is $40.
